Justice Peter Mallong Dies At 60 -

Justice Mallong (January 21, 1963) hails from Plateau State.

A Federal High Court (FHC) Judge, Justice Peter Mallong, is dead.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Justice Mallong died on Sunday after a brief illness in Abuja.

The Chief Registar of FHC, Hassan Amida Sulaiman, announced the sudden death of the judge in a statement he made available to newsmen Monday morning.

It reads: “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our own, Hon. Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong, a judge of the Federal High Court, who passed away on Sunday unexpectedly after a brief illness in Abuja.

“We will miss him more than words can express.

“Funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due time.”

Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong obtained his First School Leaving Certificate at T/RCM Primary School, Shendam in 1976; GCE O' Levels at Government Secondary School, Kuru in 1981; 'A' levels in 1984, and finally graduated at the University of Jos in 1987.

His NYSC attachment saw him work at the State Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (SDII) of the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos (1988 -1989).

He joined T.J.R.Okara & Co Legal Practitioners ,Port Harcourt, Rivers State as a Junior Counsel (1989- 1993), before becoming Principal Partner, Mallong & Partners ,Legal Practitioners and Notaries Public , Port Harcourt, Rivers State. (1994- 2015).

He was appointed a Judge of the Federal High Court on December 02nd, 2015 and until his death was at the Kaduna Division of the Court.
