Aisha Buhari commends diplomats for efforts to facilitate the safe return of our teeming citizens from Ukraine, pleads for waiver on payment for their COVID-19 test

 First Lady Aisha Buhari has commended diplomats in the country for their efforts to facilitate the safe return of our teeming citizens from Ukraine.

This came after the First Lady urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to treat the evacuation of Nigerians from Ukraine as a matter of urgency.

She had written earlier;

In view of the state of heightened insecurity in Ukraine, I commend the directives of federal government and the House of Representatives for the evacuation of our more than 5600 students trapped in the conflict.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs should treat this matter as an emergency, while our citizens should stay calm, comply with safety procedures and avoid self-help in order to avoid the mischief of human traffickers.
I stand with all Nigerian parents in praying for global peace and human solidarity.

In the new post she shared, Aisha Buhari pleaded for a waiver on payment for COVID-19 test for those evacuated from Ukraine.

She added;

I  am pleased to learn of efforts by our diplomats to facilitate the safe return of our teeming citizens from Ukraine.

I plead with the leadership of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to wave the payment for their Covid test in lieu of their arrival, abolish similar payments for all home-bound children and reduce the fees chargeable for the tests to all Nigerians.
