Streaker thwarted by cops at ‘Avengers’ party

Just as a star-studded party for new blockbuster “Avengers: Age of Ultron” geared up at the New York Edition hotel on Tuesday night, a naked man streaked by the entrance at 5 Madison Ave., witnesses said.

Cops grabbed the guy in front of the heavily secured site just before stars of the much-anticipated movie rolled up, including Mark RuffaloJeremy Renner and Paul Bettanywith Jennifer Connelly.
The Edition, at the landmark Clock Tower building, isn’t opening till next month, so the party also served as an early preview of the property, and ladders and boxes were strewn about the otherwise chic décor.
The bash, following the premiere of the movie also starring Robert Downey Jr., who didn’t make it to the party, was in a second-floor, oak-paneled space filled with vintage photos, fireplaces and a pool table.
Also at the premiere: Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his “Fifty Shades of Grey”-director wife Sam Taylor-JohnsonElizabeth OlsenCobie Smulders, artist Richard Phillips,Jenna LyonsMark Sanchez, Ben Walker, 50 Cent and Donna Karan.
When asked about the streaker, NYPD spokesman Detective Brian Sessa said, “I don’t know anything about it,” and rudely hung up the phone. When we called back, he said, “There is no record of an arrest.”
