Sofia Vergara’s ex-fiancé pens op-ed about embryo battle

Sofia Vergara may be ready to walk down the aisle with her new man, but the brunette bombshell’s ex still really wants to have a baby with her.
Nick Loeb penned a lengthy Op-Ed for The New York Times Wednesday detailing his “embryonic custody” battle with the 42-year-old “Modern Family” star.
“A woman is entitled to bring a pregnancy to term even if the man objects,” Loeb wrote.

“Shouldn’t a man who is willing to take on all parental responsibilities be similarly entitled to bring his embryos to term even if the woman objects?”
Loeb admits that the former lovebirds signed a form stating that “any embryos created through the process could be brought to term only with both parties’ consent.” But he claims the agreement never specified what would happen if they broke up.
“For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of being a parent,” the 39-year-old said.
After fracturing his pelvis in a “terrible car accident” in 2010 that made him unable to walk for six months, Loeb began pushing for children.
But after a failed few rounds with a surrogate, “it became clear once more that parenthood was much less urgent for her than it was for me,” he wrote.
“As I was coming on 40, I gave her an ultimatum. When she refused, we split up,” he said.
The pair called it quits in June 2014, but last August, Loeb filed a complaint in California to save two frozen embryos they had created.
“I take the responsibility and obligation of being a parent very seriously,” he wrote. “This is not just about saving lives; it is also about being pro-parent.
