
African
 women football champions Super Falcons were formally decamped on 
Wednesday in Abuja following their success at the 9th African Women 
Championship (AWC) in Namibia.
This was contained in a statement by the team’s Media Officer, Gracious Akujobi.
It
 said Team Administrator Ruth David, who informed the players of the 
decamping, also said they were expected to return next week for a 
presidential reception at the Aso Rock Villa.
NAN reports that 
President Goodluck Jonathan had on Wednesday received the AWC trophy at 
the Villa from team captain Evelyn Nwabuoku.
The player was in 
company of Amaju Pinnick, the Chairman of a faction of the Nigeria 
Football Association (NFA) board, and the team’s Chief Coach, Edwin 
Okon.
The statement said President Jonathan had promised to formally host the team on 5 November.
