Borrusia Dortumund and Arsenal lock horns in Group D, alongside Anderlecht and Galatasary. The Gunners recently confirmed progression to the group stages of the tournament by beating Besiktas by a lone goal margin.
Arsenal’s club secretary David Miles is anticipating the familiar clash with Dortmund. He said “ We know Borrusia Dortmund well ofcourse, and we are looking forward to it and hopefully can progress through this group- With the pre-requisite being aim to finish top of the group.
Manuel Pellegrini was ostensibly not expecting to be drawn again alongside five-time champions Bayern Munich and Cska Moscow and in Group E. They also face a tricky fixture in Roma.
Thomas Muller who scored when he faced Manchester City last October said:
‘’We know most of our opponents from last year and its going to be a challenging group. Roma in pot four are surely in a different class to Viktoria Plzen last year. It’s not going to be a walk in the park, but we are optimistic to get through.”
ManCity’s director of football Txiki Begiristain believes it’s an arduous task to progress from a UCL group no matter what team in it. He said: “Lat season Bayern Munich were first. We were second and we also played CSKA Moscow, but the fourth one now is very tough- A very strong team in Roma.”
