It is understood that Sporting Lisbon have received assurances from Taye Accdemy and now wants to thrash out personal terms with James Iheanacho, Kelechi’s father as well as Henry Galeano, the midfielder’s personal agent.\

If an agreement is eventually reached by all three parties, the player is expected to sign a three-year deal and his father should get the sum of €300,000.
The recent development now makes Sporting Lisbon favourite to land the teenage player, after Manchester City, Porto and Udinese had all previously expressed interests.
