Federico Macheda scored his third goal in as many games for Doncaster in an edgy 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, maintaining the Italian’s fine start to life in the Championship.

The Italian international says he's quickly rediscovering his scoring touch, after an impressive midweek double brace during Rovers’ 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.
"My confidence is getting higher every game,” he said.

"But I am not very happy about my performance today, especially in the first half because I was wide. But in the second half I played in my main position, I think I did better and scored the winning goal, which I was very happy about.

"I went to Doncaster because they were the team that really wanted me. I didn’t go to other clubs because they wanted me but weren’t really sure about me. I came here to be with the manager because he really wanted me and I am happy to have made that choice."
