Atletico Madrid encouraged in pursuit of frozen out Man Utd playmaker Kagawa

Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on Shinji Kagawa's situation at Manchester United.
The Japan international's future at United is in doubt after he was hooked at halftime by manager David Moyes during defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

The Daily Express says Sir Alex Ferguson struggled to fit Kagawa into his side last season, after parting with around £17million to sign him from Borussia Dortmund last year.

But Moyes appears even less likely to use the playmaker regularly, having placed his faith in Wayne Rooney in the No 10 role behind either Robin Van Persie, or like Saturday Javier Hernandez.

Kagawa has been linked with a return to German side Dortmund, while Atletico Madrid are also monitoring his position.
