Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has spoken out on the recent allegations circulating online regarding his marriage to Nollywood star Regina Daniels, land grabbing claims, and his political reputation.

In a statement released by his office’s Communication/Technical Action Team in Abuja, Nwoko claimed that a group he described as the “pull-down-Ned” gang has been after him for years and is now using the alleged marital crisis between him and Regina to ruin his image locally and internationally.

According to him, accusations of land grabbing in his hometown are completely false. He explained that the land was legitimately allocated for the establishment of the University of Sports, a project he insists is benefiting the community.

He said:

“The talk about me grabbing land in my hometown is false and unfortunate. I made a genuine offer of payment for the land to establish the University of Sports. Anyone seeking progress in our society is

usually attacked by their own people.”

Nwoko also alleged that some individuals were exploiting Regina Daniels’ health struggles for political reasons, claiming she has a history of substance use and bipolar disorder, which he says was known before their marriage.

He stated:

“Those exploiting her current condition to settle old scores will face justice. If she had any credible allegations against me, she would have said so by now. All these stories are fabricated to damage my reputation.”

Nwoko further clarified the controversy about Regina’s age at the time of their marriage. He emphasized she was 19 years old, not 17, when they got married, adding that the marriage was conducted openly with her family’s full consent.

According to him:

“Our customs do not condemn polygamy. I married her honourably and treated her with dignity. This current smear campaign is purely political blackmail to stop my progress as a Senator.”

He described Regina as a “weak point” being used by his political enemies to attack him.
