Cleaner Inherits £43m Fortune After Winning Court Battle Against Boss’s Son

A former cleaner who worked for a car-boot sale tycoon has won a High Court dispute over a £43million estate, defeating the late businessman’s eldest son.

Richard Scott, who built a fortune running one of the UK’s biggest car-boot fairs from his Cheshire farm, died aged 81 in 2018.

His eldest son, Adam Scott, claimed he had worked with his father from childhood and had been promised the entire estate — but the court ruled in favour of the former cleaner, who the businessman had chosen as his heir.
