Celebrating a Life of Service: Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, OON, CON, Talban Minna at 70

All praise and glory be to Allah (SWT), Omnipresent Lord of the Heavens, the Earth, and

 the Worlds.

Today, I join your family, associates, friends, mentees, appointees, and the countless individuals who have been inspired by your remarkable journey of leadership, service, and wisdom to celebrate you on the auspicious occasion of your 70th birthday.

This milestone stands as a living testimony to the true essence of life itself, which is to worship Allah, to live purposefully, to serve humanity, to inspire others, and to contribute selflessly to the progress of society.

For the greater part of your seven decades on earth, you have exemplified a life of service to your community, to Niger State, and to our beloved nation, Nigeria. Your footprints in public service, education, leadership, and mentorship continue to illuminate the paths of many who came after you.

You have been a successful family man, community leader, profound orator, committed civil servant and a dedicated elected public servant.

At a very personal level, you supported my candidacy for the Presidency of the Students’ Union Government at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 2003 which I won. This was a pivotal moment in my life that marked the beginning of my journey as an activist and ascending into my ongoing political journey.

I served as a Special Assistant in your administration, and then you entrusted Barr. Mohammed Mu’azu Aliyu - your mentee with the task of restructuring the Niger State Development Company (NSDC) as Chief Executive Officer. I was privileged to be part of the outstanding team that worked to transform the company’s asset base, workforce, and strategic outlook. Those experiences remain a defining chapter of my business and professional life, preparing a great many of us in that generation to become employers of labour.

We hold you in the highest esteem, but Allah (SWT) holds you even more dearly for He has blessed you with longevity of life, wisdom in craft and articulation, and the grace to witness the fruits of your labour and attain higher stations.

At moments such as this, when we reflect on a life so richly lived, we are reminded that the true measure of greatness lies not in titles or possessions, but in the enduring impact of one’s deeds. To this, the impact of your life speak eloquently for you.

As you celebrate this special day, may Allah (SWT) continue to bless you with good health, renewed strength, and the peace that comes with a life well spent in worship, service, faith, and humanity. May your legacy endure through generations to come.

Happy 70th Birthday, Sir.

On behalf of myself, my Wife - Rabi’ah, and Muhammad Imam and his siblings, we wish you many more years of divine favour, prosperity, and fulfillment.
