 Southampton have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu on deadline day.


The former Genk striker joined the premier League club for �18.5m, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract at St Mary's.


The 28-year-old - who is a Nigerian international is the top scorer in the Belgian league this season, netting 17 times in 22 games.


He has scored 85 goals in 134 games in total for Genk, having previously netted 71 times in 181 appearances for Danish side FC Midtjylland.


Saints boss Nathan Jone was also delighted with the  addition of the night as he said: 'Paul is a significant signing for us and completes what has been an extremely positive month in terms of recruitment.'


The Southampton boss then added: 'He?s a handful to play against, has got a tremendous record throughout his career and he?s also someone who brings great experience with him, so he?ll be a really positive addition to the squad.'
