Barcelona sign Dutch defender and add £89million buyout clause to contract

Barcelona have signed 20-year-old right-back Mike van Beijnen on a two-year deal, and put an £89million buyout clause in his contract.
The Dutch full-back arrives from Eredivisie side NAC Breda on a free transfer, and will join up with Barca's B team for the 2019/20 campaign.

Van Beijnen has also been on the books of both PSV Eindhoven and Willem II, with some reports suggesting that he is the son of new Barca midfielder Frenkie de Jong's agent Ali Dursun.
Barca B finished eighth in the Segunda Division B last season, and Van Beijnen will join a squad full of players determined to push their way into first-team manager Ernesto Valverde's plans.

Van Beijnen has signed a two-year deal

A statement on Barca's website confirmed the deal.
"Mike van Beijnen signed his contract with FC Barcelona this Thursday afternoon at the Ciutat Esportiva training ground in the presence of director Silvio Elías, head of professional youth football, together with Josep Segura, sports manager for football, and José Mari Bakero and Guillermo Amor, who are in charge of the youth setup at the club," it read.
"The right back, who has previously played for NAC Breda, PSV Eindhoven and Willem IIput pen to paper for the next two seasons, though to 2021. He arrives as a free agent and his buyout clause has been set at 100 million euros.
"He successfully passed the routine medical checks with the club medical services."

Ernesto Valverde's side are expected to complete several moves this summer

Barca's first-team are expected to complete a variety of transfers in and out of the Nou Camp this summer, with Neymar still linked with a return to the club and the futures of the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele still uncertain.
Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has also been strongly linked with a move to Catalonia, as well as switches to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
