Five Deputy Comptroller Generals Of Customs Resign

Hameed-Ali-Customs-meetingFive senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Services yesterday voluntarily retired from service.
Though no reason was given for their decision to suddenly retire, it might not be unconnected with President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Col. Hameed Ali (retd.) as Comptroller-General of the NCS.

military administrator, took a radical break from the past when the head of customs is usually appointed from among the rank of Deputy Comptrollers General, and not an ‘outsider’.
The Deputy Comptrollers General John Atte (Finance, Administration and Technical Service); Adewuyi Akinade (Tariff and Trade); Tahir Musa (Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection; Chukwuma Nwosu and Mera IM.
CustomsIn a joint letter of voluntary disengagement through the Comptroller General of Customs to The Chairman, Nigerian Customs Service Board, the aforementioned officials said they “decided to voluntarily retire from the service of Nigeria Customs Service haven risen to the privileged rank of Deputy Comptroller General”.
They also thanked President Buhari for giving them the opportunity to serve their fatherland.
