With most Nigerian and Afrobeats artists all sounding the same these days, Tribeqa are developing a very unique new school Afrobeats sound, which immediately sets them apart from the rest. Drawing from their strong Nigerian culture and artistic authenticity, the Tribeqa sound also takes inspiration from Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop, Indie and Pop music.
Without question, Tribeqa The visuals for “See Me Now”, which were shot on location on Brighton beach, and directed by SammyShoots, take on a very chill, carefree and effortless approach to great effect, mirroring the relaxed and playful vibe of the record itself. With its lush talking drums, synth-heavy keyboard arrangements, African House music sensibilities, thumping bassline and unforgettable melodies, “See Me Now” is simply irresistible and its visuals bring the record even further to life.
Representing their #2047 collective which the duo established last year, Tribeqa have a very exciting and breakthrough 2015 planned, with the follow up release to “See Me Now” already ready to go. Featuring Stunnah Gee, who has just recently released a massive collaboration with Davido, Tribeqa’s upcoming single “Su Mo Mi” is due to be released next month.
