Late Dora Akunyili’s Daughter Emmerges As American Art Museum 2014's Winner



Daughter of late Dora Akunyili, ex Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Njideka Akunyili Crosby has won the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s 2014 James williee Prize.

The 32-year-old mixed-media artist Njideka will receive a cash prize of $25,000 (N4,442,493.70) along with the award which “recognizes an artist younger than 50 who has produced a significant body of work and consistently demonstrates exceptional
creativity.”
