Forensic
experts investigating the deadly blast at a motor park in Nyanya, Abuja
which killed many have identified the bodies of two men who are
believed to have participated in the bombing.A
third suicide bomber who managed to escape from the scene before the
explosion was also identified by the experts and security agents are
working towards his arrest.
Security sources who revealed this on
Monday in Abuja said, the bodies were identified through forensic
analysis, with the use of certain scientific variables, including body
tissues.
“Through the assistance of experts, we now know those
who carried out the attack. Although two of them are dead, we are on the
trail of the one who is alive,” the source said.
When contacted
for more information, the police spokesperson, Frank Mba, said he
wouldn't make any comments now so that the investigation would not be
jeopardized.
Some of the victims who survived the blast have been
discharged from the hospital, while about 29 are still receiving
treatment in various hospitals in Abuja.
After the blast, there were reports that the victims were being neglected and left hungry.
However,
the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT minister, Mohammed Sule dismissed
such reports, adding that the medical bills of all the survivors were
paid by the FCT administration except that of a victim who discharged
himself from the Maitama District Hospital and checked into a private
hospital.
